    Ruth K. Cline, 78, of Marietta passed away at 11:10 pm, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 8, 1942, in Marietta a daughter of Clarence and Edna Jones Thrasher.
    Ruth is survived by her children, George Cline and Tony (Stacy) Cline; 5 grandchildren: Dusty Bland, James Edward Bland III, Alex Bland, Cadence Cline, MaKinzie Cline and great granddaughter, Hollie Bland. She is also survived by brothers and sisters: Marie McKenna, Margaret Fryman, Diane Siance, Janice Richards, Donnie Thrasher, Ronnie Thrasher.

  • Peggy Sue Bland

    Peggy Sue Bland, 53 of Marietta passed away 3:55 am Tuesday August 31, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
    She was born September 2, 1967 in Marietta to Paul Henry and Ruth Kay (Cline) Tullius. She was employed at the Marietta Center.
    Funeral services will be held 2 pm Sunday, (Sept. 5) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial to follow in Gravel Bank Cemetery.   Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 on Saturday. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.

  • Tana Marie Plechaty

    Tana Marie Plechaty of Marietta died at home Tuesday morning August 31, 2021.
    Tana was born to Joseph (Pepi) and Frances (Frannie) Plechaty on February 3, 1953 in Abingdon, VA. She graduated from Frontier High School in New Matamoras and Ohio University in Athens before moving to the east coast to pursue her dreams of teaching. Tana returned to the Mid-Ohio Valley 25 years ago and continued to teach for Frontier Local Schools until retirement.

  • David Henry Kilmer

    David Henry Kilmer, 90, of Marietta passed away at 8:00 pm, Monday, August 30, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born in Marietta on January 10, 1931, a son of Henry David and Marian Iams Kilmer.
    Dave graduated from Marietta High School, class of 1949, was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1955, and was a member of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 169 retiring January 1, 1993. He was a member American Legion Post 64, Devola Volunteer Fire Department for 36 years, serving as Chief from 1981 to 1994.

  • Gloria Laverna Hagar

    Gloria Laverna Hagar, 79,of Marietta died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. She was born April 2,1942, in Marietta Ohio to Stella and William Hawkins she graduated from Marietta High School.
    She worked at the Christian Anchorage until it closed then she moved to Harmar Place where she worked until she was no longer able. She loved to fish, camp, family get-togethers, but her biggest love and joy were her grand kids and great grand kids. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

  • Gary Edward Thomas

    Gary Edward Thomas, 74, of Marietta, passed away August 27, 2021 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born May 27, 1947 to Leland and Eileen Thomas. He was married to Theresa Strahler at St. Mary’s Church, Marietta, on July 21, 1973.
    Gary graduated from Marietta High School in 1965 and attended Ohio University and Washington State Community College. Gary served in the US Army and US Navy. He retired from Eramet in 2011. He was a member of the American Legion Post 64.Gary enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, vacations at Nags Head, NC, playing softball for many years at Hadley Field, and hunting.

    William J. King, 92, of Marietta passed away at 6:23 pm, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
    He was born March 17, 1929, in Miller, Ohio, a son of Albra and Clarinda Miller King. Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War. He had been employed by Clarence Lowe Gas Station and Floyd Fouss Hilltop Gas Station and retired in 1991 from Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was baptized at Lowell Christian Church.
