Alicia Eddy McIntire

Portrait of Alicia Eddy McIntire

Alicia Eddy McIntire, 47, of Marietta, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025.
Alicia was the beloved daughter of Tom and Janine Eddy of Marietta. She was a 1996 graduate of Marietta High School and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 1999, a reflection of her lifelong passion for nurturing and teaching young minds.
In October of 2000, Alicia married the love of her life, Guy McIntire, at St. Paul’s Church in Marietta. Together they raised three children, Alisyn Herb (Gage), Matthew McIntire, and Christopher McIntire.
For over 20 years, Alicia served Marietta City Schools with dedication and compassion, working as both a teacher and principal. Her commitment to education and the well-being of children left a lasting impact on countless students and families in the Marietta area.
Alicia’s heart for service extended beyond the classroom. After her time with the school district, she joined Go Packs, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing food insecurity among children in the region. Alicia’s leadership and compassion made a difference in the lives of many, continuing her mission to care for those most in need.
Alicia found joy in the simple beauty of life. She loved nature, gardening, and long walks in the woods with her beloved dog, Rosie. Her radiant smile, brilliant spirit, and compassionate heart captivated everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. To her friends, Alicia was a source of bright sunshine—a constant, joyful presence who gave selflessly and loved deeply.
In addition to her husband, children and parents, Alicia is survived by her granddaughter, Elisabeth Herb; her brother, Luke Eddy (Emily); her nephew, Chase Eddy; and her grandmother, Herma Eddy.
Alicia’s passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of those who love her, but her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched through her kindness, service, and unwavering love.
A memorial service to celebrate Alicia’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday June 7th at the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta. Family and friends may pay their respects beginning at 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alicia’s memory to Go Packs, a cause close to her heart. Contributions may be made online at GoPacks4kids.org or mailed to GoPacks, 510 Fourth Street, Marietta, OH.
