Alma I. Dowler Eaton
Alma Irene Dowler Eaton, 83, of Fleming passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at 12:31am. She was born December 21, 1933, on Blennerhassett Island to Herbert “Bud” Dowler and Loretta Isadene Courtney Dowler.
Alma was a homemaker and also created porcelain dolls and was an accomplished seamstress. She was an excellent bowler.
On August 22, 1955, she married Paul Francis Eaton who preceded her in death on May 27, 2005. She is survived by one son, Joel (Brenda) Eaton of Marietta; two daughters, Robin (Tony Mercer) Gregory of Fleming and Carrie (Dale) Richards of Belpre; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters and 4 brothers: Edna Mackey of Fleming, Helen Venham of Marietta, Bonnie Whytsell of South Carolina, Paul Dowler of Vincent, Walter Dowler of Coolville, Darrell Dowler of Fleming, Bryan Dowler of Fleming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 daughters, Deana Joy Eaton and Jonette Dawn Rich.
Graveside services will be held in Barlow Cemetery on Tuesday (June 20) at 1:00 pm. Family will greet friends at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Tuesday before the service from 10 until 12. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
