Amy F. Johnson
Amy F. Johnson, 85, of Lowell, passed away on Friday (March 29, 2013) at Marietta Center. She was born on April 26, 1927, in Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of William Benton and Emma Ellen Mangus Hinzman.
She was a member of River of Life Assembly of God for many years and had served as treasurer and was active in the womens ministries. In her younger days, she loved to play guitar, sing and lead worship. She was a homemaker and loved the outdoors, gardening, squirrel hunting, and spending time with her family and friends.
On April 17, 1947, she married the love of her life, Charles William Johnson, who survives with two daughters and four sons, Shirley (Bob) Irish of Attica, Ohio, Larry (Kathleen) Johnson of Belpre, Wes (friend Patty) Johnson of Lowell, Bill (Connie) Johnson of Lowell, Steve (Tamera) Johnson of Lowell, Rhonda (Albert) Hendershot of Waterford; grandchildren, Sonya and Tony Parsons, Lori, Rob, Shane and Tim Johnson, Alisha Schaad, Autumn Rosenbohm, Gabe Lucas; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Grace and Edna Hinzman of Ocala, Fla., Rosalene Hinzman of Orangeburg, S.C., Lillie Marie Johnson of Lowell; brothers-in-law, Carl Johnson of Warren, Dave Bradley of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, James Edward Parsons; five brothers, Denver, Ayward (Jim), Arnel, Argel, and Edward Hinzman; two sisters, Eva Esther and Ora Mae Hinzman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (April 3, 2012) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor George Gaston officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
