Annabell Buchman

Annabell Buchman, 81, of Marietta passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.

Annabell was born September 24,1929 to Clarence and Beulah Beaver Postlethwait in the small village of Folsom, WV, Wetzel County just east of New Martinsville.   At Magnolia High School she was a Drum Major of the marching band and played the trumpet in the school concert band. She graduated with the class of 1947.

On May 28,1949 Annabell married Thomas “Tom" Buchman at the First Christian Church of New Martinsville. Annabell worked at C&P Telephone as an operator, and at Mobay Chemical Corporation offices.  She held several interesting positions before her employment at Selby General Hospital where she retired after 21 years. She was a realtor at Antill Realty, a licensed auctioneer,  and she worked at some of Marietta's earliest specialty shoe stores, Dailey's and Dick Kremer's.

She and Tom have two sons who survive; Brad (Beth) Buchman, of Parkersburg, WV and his children, Mitch (Amy) of Douglas Island, AK and Natalie Buchman of Truckee, CA; Rick (Deborah) Buchman of Marietta and his children, Daniel (Emily Grgich) Buchman of Lancaster, Michelle Casada of Belpre; 3 daughters:  Carol (Mike) Beardmore of Marietta and her children, Leslie Hughes of Marietta and Meredith Beardmore of New York City; Anita Buchman of Marietta and her children, J. Hibler, D.O. of Zanesville and Abbie Hibler of Boston; Marsha (Jeff) Schaad of Marietta and her children, Jason, Adam, Nicholas and Olivia Schaad all of Marietta.  Also surviving are great grandchildren: Keagan and Bella Hughes, Kodi Casada, Cadance Buchman; and sister Helen Leary, nephew, Mike (Kate) Leary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tom Buchman on December 31, 2006, and a brother Clarence “Junior” Postlethwait.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday (June 23) at 2:00pm at East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.  McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Annabell are requested to The Central Ohio Parkinson Society, 2800 Corporate Exchange, Dr., Suite 265, Columbus, OH 43231.
