Bertha B. Robinson
Bertha B. Robinson, 96, of Putnam Place, Marietta, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009, at her home.
She was born in Gladstone, NJ, on November 23, 1912, a daughter of Walter L. Ballentine and Emma C. VanHorn Ballentine. Bertha was employed for 28 years with the U. S. Postal Service in Gladstone and Bedminster, New Jersey.
In 1938 Bertha married Wallace Simms who passed away in 1956. In 1978 she married Henry “Hank” P. Robinson who passed away in 1989. In 1995 she moved to Marietta to be closer to her family.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Delbert “Gale”) Newlon of Marietta, grandchildren: Ronald “Ronnie” (Roberta “Bobbi”) Hazelton of Marietta, David (Sherri) Hazelton of Columbus, and Gary (Irene) Hazelton of Michigan; great grandchildren: Jacob, Aaron, Joshua, Emma, Ian and Mackenzie “Kenzie” Hazelton and Samantha Bauso; 3 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, and brother-in-law Thomas (Mary) Simms.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm January 17th at the Second Congregational Church on State Route 26 with Pastor Richard Saltzwedel officiating. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be offered at www.mlsfuneralhome.com.
