Betty Jane Addlesburger Spindler

Betty Jane  Addlesburger Spindler, 90, of Marietta passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Harmar Place.

She was born October 17, 1925 in Washington Co. to Charles Elmer and Della Mae (McKitrick) Addlesburger.  Betty was a homemaker, who loved to play bingo with her family and friends and watch Wheel of Fortune.  She was a long time member of the Marietta Church of God and had volunteered at the O’Neil Center for 35 years.
 
Betty was married to Richard A. Spindler who passed away on January 28, 1981.
 
Surviving is her daughter Deborah A Fritsche (Neil), her daughter-in-law Diane Spindler, both on Marietta, grandchildren Brenda Oliver of Parkersburg, Keri Spindler (Fiancée  John Bishop) of Marietta, and Chris Fritsche of California.  Also surviving are great grandchildren Brittni Oliver, Devin and Derek Bules along with several nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son Richard “Dick” Spindler, Jr., and siblings: Frances Wenzel, Esther Carpenter, Helen Payne, Dorothy Hill, Polly Randolph, Earl Addlesburger, Pauline Addlesburger and Katherine Addlesburger.
 
The family would like to express their appreciation to Paul and Marty, Ruth Ann and Pastor Dan  and Lisa for the comfort they provided Betty in her final days.
 
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday October 7th at the Marietta Church of God with burial following in Lynch Cemetery.   Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Thursday beginning at 2 pm with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at  www.Lankfordfh.com.
