Bob Ray Arthur

Bob Ray Arthur, 69, of Devola, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 9, 2010.

Bob was born in the small coal mining community of Carbondale, WV, a son of Fred and Thelma Ray Arthur.  He attended elementary school at Cannelton Elementary School.  After moving to the family farm in 1954, Bob graduated high school from Nicholas County High School in 1959.  He served in the US Army.  Bob owned and operated Stop-Leak Water Proofing.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marla Bineger Arthur and 3 children:  Angie (Bret) Reid of Greensboro, NC, Andy Arthur and Justin Arthur both of Marietta; 4 grandchildren:  Tyler Reid, Elisha Reid, Savannah Arthur and Courtney Arthur; 3 sisters:  Mildred Eloise Yeary, Phyllis (Jerry) Stover both of Summersville, WV, and Donna (Wally) Newton of Pittsburgh; 2 brothers Fred (Betty) Arthur, Jr. of Belle, WV and Ralph (Carol) Arthur of Summersville and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill Arthur of Cleveland.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday (November 12th) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Kapple officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday.
