Candace Lee Burke-Gales
Candace Lee Burke-Gales, 71, of Canal Winchester, Ohio passed away at 8:30pm on August 2, 2024.
She was born on September 22, 1952, at Marietta Memorial Hospital to the late Eugene and Iduma Burke. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1970. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. She had been employed with the State Transportation of Ohio and retired from the Shelly Company. Her favorite sport was Softball, from being a player and a coach. She was also a Girl Scout leader. She never missed any events for her children, grandchildren and friends, rain or shine she was there being everyone’s biggest cheerleader.
She is survived by one sister, Tamla Sue Burke of Marietta and one brother, Larry Burke Sr. of Belpre. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Angela Burke and Alan Caslin of Columbus, and Amanda Wilson and Son in Law Freddie Lee Wilson Jr. of Pickerington. Granddaughters, Ashley Marie Wynn, Aija Layn Cason Wilson, Layla Janae Wilson, Kyra Nicole Wilson, Selah Marie Wilson, a Great Grandson, Leiland Eugene Burke-Wynn and nephews, Larry Burke Jr. of Marietta and Brandon Burke of Cleveland, and a host of family and friends also survive.
Preceding her in death are her two brothers, Rodney and Timmy Burke.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 17th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home (314 Fourth Street, Marietta Ohio 45750) and the family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
