Charles Aaron Henn
Another veteran has passed, Charles Aaron Henn, 97, of The Pines in Marietta, formerly of Paducah, KY, died on Monday, August 8, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on January 23, 1914, in Harrisburg, IL, a son of Tom and Clara Wallace Henn. He was a veteran of WWII, and had been a salesman for Lever Brothers (now Unilever) and Curtiss Candy Company. He loved to refinish antiques and traveled collecting antiques. He was a former deacon of the First Baptist Church of Paducah, KY and had gone to Africa with a church group to help build a church there.
He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Schoonover, 3 grandchildren: Steve (Madonna) Schoonover of Marietta, Debra (Paul) Fleck of Atlanta, GA, Kris Schoonover (Dail Harper) of Caldwell, OH, 6 great grandchildren: Maria Schoonover, Joseph Clark, Sabrina Ridgway, Kayla Pride (Willie Thomas), Ryan Fleck, Ashley Fleck, 6 great, great grandchildren, his sister Jewel Sweet of Memphis, TN, step daughter Nancy Lee Guess of Tallahassee, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth A. Henn of Paducah and his second wife Dorothy Lee Henn of Paducah.
Funeral services with full military rites will be held 1 pm Thursday, August 11th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Mugrage officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10 am on Thursday.
