Charlotte Imogene Becker
Charlotte Imogene Becker, 90, of Reno passed away 10:00 am Monday March 30, 2015 at the Arbors of Marietta.
She was born December 4, 1924 in Charleston, WV to Ira and Minnie (Durst) Miller. After her graduation from Jacksonville High at the age of 17, Imogene went to work as a Rosie the Riveter in the Bomber factory in Detroit where she would later meet her husband. Imogene worked at JC Penny’s for many years. She was an active member of the Little Muskingum Congregational Church and the Marietta Clown Club. Imogene enjoyed singing and entertaining people. She was an excellent mother and homemaker.
Surviving is her husband, of 71 years, Robert J. Becker, Sr. whom she married on December 3, 1943. Also surviving are their children Robert Becker, Jr. of Marietta, Shirley Becker of Marietta, Sue Carmichael (Jim) of Atlanta, GA, Sammy Becker (Barb Stone) of Marietta and Ronald Becker (Juanita) of Marietta along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A brother Arley Miller of Tucson, AZ and a sister Eva Parsons of Charleston, WV also survive.
In addition to her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday April 3rd at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Joyce Dye officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
