Cheryl Raye Congleton

Cheryl Raye Congleton, 79, of Marietta (Devola) passed away at 8:20pm, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 30, 1947 in Marietta a daughter of Ben Bohl and Maxine Bradley Bohl.

Cheryl was employed at Marietta City Schools and had been the Sexton for both Putnam and Highland Ridge Cemeteries. She was baptized at the Putnam Congregational Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. Cheryl was an avid bowler, having bowled in many National Tournaments in several states and was a great softball pitcher. She delivered Franciscan meals and was a member of the “Red Hats.”

On July 11, 1965, she married Terry Congleton who survives with their son, Keith Congleton of Marietta, 3 grandchildren: Josh (Jordan) Tonkin, Adam Tonkin, and Brent Congleton, great grandson Hayden and her cat “Bo.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dan Bohl and her daughter-in-law Tina Congleton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Oct. 1) at 11:00am at McClure Schafer Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Putnam Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 6:00pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
