Chloe Wanda Conley
Chloe Wanda Conley, 78, of Marietta, passed away 1:00 am, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home.
She was born in East Palestine, Ohio on September 14, 1931 to Lloyd William and Esther Laura Culbertson Mercer. Chloe was a 1950 graduate of Williamstown High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Valley Harvest Church and the Red Hat Society. When Chloe wasn’t visiting family and friends she enjoyed baking, reading (especially the Bible) and praying for those in need.
In June of 1955, she married Elmer Conley who preceded her in death on January 4, 2002.
Surviving is a daughter Teresa (John) Laing of Millbury, Ohio, a son Kevin (Diana) Conley of Marietta and grandchildren Stephen Laing, Paul Laing, Alison Laing, Kyle Conley and Taryn Conley. Also surviving is her brother William (JoAnn) Mercer and sisters Doll Shelly, Farra Davies, and Eileen Martin. Sister-in-law Wanda (Glen) Moorehead and brother-in-law Larry (Molly) Conley also survive her.
In addition to her parents and husband, a son Gregory Conley, a brother Jack Mercer and sisters Mary Kollert and Evelyn Mercer preceded Chloe in death.
A celebration of her life will be 11 am, November 13th at the Valley Harvest Church located at 104 Tennis Center Dr. with Pastor Madlynne Webber officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Marietta Home Nursing & Hospice, 210 N. 7th St. Marietta, OH 45750 or the Valley Harvest Church.
