Clyde “Jack”Tyrell
Clyde “Jack” Tyrell, 93, of Lower Salem passed away at 12:00 pm Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Heartland of Marietta. He was born May 30, 1921, at Dilles Bottom, Ohio, a son of William and Eliza Bennington Tyrell. Jack was a mechanic at Darrah’s Garage, life member of V.F.W. Post 5108 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II where he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars.
On January 28, 1946, he married Velma Jean Wade who preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by 2 sons, Gary (Linda) Tyrell of North Carolina and Scott (Marsha) Tyrell of Lower Salem; granddaughter Genelle Tyrell and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Catharine Rankins and 8 brothers and sisters.
According to his wishes his body will be cremated and a committal services will be held 1 pm Wednesday September 3rd at East Lawn Memorial Park. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
