Curtis F. Kachner

Curtis F. Kachner, 86, of Malta, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2011.

Born on March 10, 1925, in Warren, Ohio, he was the son of Francis Kachner and Margarite Toot Kachner.  He spent most of his life in Akron, Ohio, and the last 20 years in Malta.  Curtis was employed as Sales Manager for Summit Grinding and Machine Co., was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII, was a life member of VFW Post 4713 at Malta, past Monarch of Yusef Kahn Grotto of Akron, member of Scottish Rite Wayfarer Lodge #789, long time member of Tadmore Shrine and Free and Accepted Masons for over 50 years and was a member of Port-O-Morgan Boat Club.  He was an Arthur Murray dance instructor and enjoyed dancing and golf.

Curtis was married to Edna French who survives with his loving family, Barb and Jim Mottice, Linda Nichols, 4 grandchildren:  Terri, Jeff, Traci and David, 10 great grandchildren, also son, Kim and daughter, Karla, along with many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward and Dale Kachner, and sister, Betty Jane Sheaks.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (June14) at 1:00 at East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel followed by entombment.  McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
