David “Dave” Maxson

David “Dave” Maxson, 70, of Williamstown lost his 13-month battle with brain cancer and took his final take off today landing safely in the arms of his LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ in Heaven. He was greeted by his parents and many other loved friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Atzenhofer) at home, 2 children – Matthew (Cynthia), Lydia and Isaac of Merstham, UK, and Melanie, Kyla of Williamstown, 3 brothers and 5 brothers-in-law who loved him dearly.

David was a retired USN aviator and a retired TWA/AA captain. He loved flying and the outdoors but he loved his LORD more and. his desire was all to come to the saving knowledge of accepting Jesus Christ and their Lord and Savior. This was reflected in all he did and said!

Visitation is at Evergreen Bible Church in Williamstown from 3 to 8 pm Monday August 27 Celebration of life will be held 11am at the church on Tuesday August 28th and a graveside service will be held at 3 pm that afternoon at Pine Grove Cemetery in Berea, WV. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.

The family is asking that David’s wishes of NO flowers or plants be sent. He desired for those funds to be given either to American Brain Cancer Association, or to your local church missions work. If you have no designated church or mission work you may contribute to the International Mission Board in Richmond, VA or the Navigators in Colorado Springs, CO
