Dean E. Kehl

Dean E. Kehl, 81, of Bonn (Whipple) passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016.  He was born April 23, 1934, in Noble County at the home of his parents in Germantown, Ohio, the oldest son of the late Von Martin Kehl and Ida Golda Burkhart Kehl.

 
He was a member of the Lower Salem United Methodist Church serving as a trustee for 4o plus years.  Dean graduated from Harriettsville High School with the Class of 1951 and was a member of Masterson Masonic Lodge 429.  He retired from American Electric Power, Muskingum River Plant, after 26 years of service.  He had also worked for J.A. Schwendeman for 15 years and was an avid bowler and loved his John Deere.
 
Dean is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Lee, his sons, Daniel D. (Marilyn) Kehl of Beverly, Bruce I. (Lisa) Kehl of Devola, daughter Jane (Mark) Eakle of Whipple; his twin sister Jean (Charles) Hockenberry of Lower Salem, his brothers, Thurman (Darlene) and Jimmy (Rella) Kehl both of Columbus.  He is also blessed with 5 grandchildren:  Matthew (Tina) Carpenter, Kala Kehl (Troy) Fogle, Mark (Deanna) Kehl, Elaina Eakle and Lauren Eakle; 10 great grandchildren:  Mikayla, Madison, Mackenzie, Cole, Kali, Eithyn, Kelton, Isabella, Parker (who was born on his grandpa’s birthday) and Zackson  all whom he adored.
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 16) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Verdi officiating.  Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 with a Masonic service at 8 pm.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
