DeLoris M. Haas Berg
DeLoris M. Haas Morgenstern Berg, 89, of Whipple passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, June 1, 2016. She was born February 14,1927 in Chicago IL, to the late Bert and Ethel Walker Haas. DeLoris moved to the Dalzell area in 1953 with her late husband L Donald Morgenstern.
She was a loving wife of 42 years to Carl W. Berg, whom she married on February 14,1974. She previously worked outside the home at Devola Hasty Shopper and also did house cleaning for many people. She was a past member of The Bethel Senior Citizens and loved to help others in the community.
DeLoris is survived by her husband Carl, daughters, Diane Morgenstern, Doris (Ron) Hudson all of Marietta, Darlene (Jim) Davis of New Matamoras, daughter-in-law, Shirley Morgenstern, of Marietta. Grandchildren David (Jamie) Cody, Jr. of Whipple, Bryan (Jennifer) Morgenstern of Cortland, Tanya (Paul) Wilhelm of Atwater. Great-grandchildren James & Gary Cody and Owen & Allison Morgenstern and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Haas, her first husband, an infant son, son Daniel Morgenstern, son-in-law Tom Hill and grandson Bobby Hill.
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and assistants for all the great care and support provided in the past 5 months. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Salem Township VFD (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (June 4) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in Waxler Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 & 6-8 and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
