Denny was born on January 10, 1935, near Spencer in Roane County, WV to William Garnet and Una (Williams) Boggs. A 1952 graduate of Spencer High School, Denny went on to graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan, University of Southern California (USC) and Claremont Graduate School, teaching elementary school for 27 years in the Los Angeles area. Prior to teaching in Los Angeles, he also taught in Maryland, served in the US Army (1957-59), worked at the United Nations in New York City and the Southern Pacific Railroad in southern California.
Denny enjoyed traveling abroad as well as playing the piano and writing poetry (both of which he was quite good at). Upon retirement and after traveling extensively, he returned east in 2006 after nearly 40 years in Los Angeles, CA to be closer to family and friends, settling in Marietta, OH.
Denny is survived by brother David (Martha) Boggs of Urbana, OH, and sister Delores Adler of Deerfield, WV, nephews Bruce Adler, Michael Boggs, Jon Adler and niece Ann Adler Tickle as well as several grand nephews and a grandniece, aunt Ruth (Williams) Stewart of Point Pleasant, WV and lifelong friend Gail Popp of Marietta, OH.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, William Garnet and Una Boggs, brother-in-law Morton William (Bill) Adler III, nephew Morton William (Bill) Adler IV, and niece Elizabeth (Beth) Ann (Boggs) Bishop.
