Denzil W. Nolan, Sr.

Denzil W. Nolan, Sr., 83, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at his home.  He was born on February 25, 1929, in Pine Grove, WV, a son of Nelson G. and Bertha Rose Nolan.  He was one of the best Excavator Operators in the country and owned Denzil Nolan Excavating and Nolan Builders Construction.    He was a member of Waverly Church of Christ.  He loved his family and was loved by his family.

He is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son:  Deborah Williams, Peggy (Keith) Emerick, and Denzil W. (Angie) Nolan, Jr. all of Williamstown; 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 2 sisters:  Ray (Mary) Nolan, Junior (Helen) Noland, Kenneth Nolan, Roger (Cindy) Noland, Betty Wright, Shirley (Dan) Roton and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn Nolan, 3 grandchildren:  Nathanael Nolan, Angel Nolan, Denzil Nolan III, 2 sisters and 3 brothers:  Margaret, Iona, Virgil, Robert, Ronald.
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Feb. 26) at 1:00pm at Williamstown Church of Christ on 9th Street with Bob Long officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home beginning on Sunday at 2:00 thru Monday evening with family present 2-4 & 6-8 each day and at the church one hour before the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
