Dexter William Sciance

Dexter William Sciance, 85, of Marietta went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his life and family. He was born on July 12, 1940 a son of Howard and Jessie Flowers Sciance.

He spent a lifetime working hard and loving his family. Many years of hard work was spent at the Marietta Chair Factory and the Labors Local 639 from which he retired. He spent his free time helping others, building numerous homes and special projects, taking little ones on golf car rides, hunting, fishing, playing pranks, being a good Grandpa and taking care of his home and everyone around him. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge in Marietta since 1975 and a member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by the love of his life, Cynthia (Ward), stepdaughter Amanda “Mandy” Ward (Eric) Butcher; two grandsons Landon and Tyler, whom he cherished and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Glen, Donald, Harold and Marion; sisters: Esther, Helen, Pat and Ileen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday (Dec. 23) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Warren Chapel Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www:Lankfordfh.com
