Dolores Hope Addlesburger
Dolores Hope Addlesburger, 93, of Rt 1, Beverly, Ohio, died Friday, October 21, 2016, at the home of her daughter .She was born, March 22,1923, in Reno, Ohio, daughter of Harry and Anna Mae Porter/Lane.
She graduated from Marietta High School in 1941and was a homemaker. In her youth she was a soloist at Reno Christian Church and Sandhill School. She was a member of Lowell Christian Church.
On August 9,1941 she married Delmer E. “Ted” Addlesburger and they resided in Reno until 1958 when they and their four children moved to a farm at Beverly. She took a great interest in the farm and the animals. Her final years were spent with her children and her caregiver Shirley Jones of Tuppers Plains.
She is survived by one son, Randall E. Addlesburger and wife Frieda of Beverly, three daughters: Judith L. Miller and husband Andrew of Waterford, Sandra K, Smith and husband Jerry of Belpre, and Janice L. Hughes and husband John of Marietta. Nine grandchildren: Lisa Miller/Kindig (Bryan), Shawn, Todd (Rena) and Patrick (Rachel) Miller; Eric (Serita), Christopher (Torri), Michelle Wears, Tracey Wears/Smith (Mark), and Steven Addlesburger (Misty), and two step grandsons Jim Allen (Year) and John Allen (Dolores).13 Great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and two great, great grandsons. One niece Nancy Lane/Kegrease (Bob), and three nephews Robert Lane (Helen), Gary Lane (Sandy), Jerry Lane and a sister-in-law Ruby Parker (Emery).
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers: Perry, Clifford, Paul, Richard and Howard; stepmothers, stepsisters and great granddaughter Caroline Addlesburger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Oct. 24) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Valley section at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
