Donald L. Casto

Donald L. Casto, 74, of Marietta, passed away at noon on Saturday (Oct. 15, 2011) at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born on Feb. 28, 1937, in Wade, Ohio, a son of Clyde and Audrey Gracey Casto.

Don retired from Elkem, where he was employed as a millwright. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 1st Calvary in Korea. He was a graduate of Marietta High School Class of 1955, a member of American Legion Post 64, where he assisted with military graveside rites, enjoyed painting landscapes and still life, fishing, boating and his cats.

On June 28, 1963, he married Judy Barth Casto, who survives with two sons, Brian Casto and friend, Letha Rech and Brent Casto, brother Phil Casto and sister Kay Bonnette, all of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Janet McBrayer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Oct. 20) at 10 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Don Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon after 2 p.m. with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
