Donald Weppler
Donald Weppler, 78, of Marietta, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring, Florida.
He was born in Lower Salem on February 7, 1934, a son of the late Gerald W. and Clara Dovenbarger Weppler. Don had been employed at the Ohio Department of Transportation until his retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moose Lodge, Resort Parks International, Family Motorcoach, Coast to Coast, and a life member of Good Sams Club. He had traveled around Europe and loved traveling with his wife in their RV and had visited all the continental states with the exception of Alaska. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was married for 57 years to Patricia Piersa who survives with 2 children, Ricky Alan (Ophelia) Weppler of New Mexico and Pamela Ann Davis of Marietta and 4 children from a previous marriage. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild and his half sister, Leslie Roby.
He was preceded in death by his brother Wendell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (March 27) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following at Salem Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday afternoon after 2:00 with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.
