Donavan J. Bailey

Donavan J. Bailey, 89, of Waverly, WV, passed away at 9:38 pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Salem Care and Rehab Center in Salem, WV.

He was born on September 6, 1920, in Minnora, WV, a son of Samuel and Rose Nell States Bailey. He was a veteran of WWII, serving most of the time as a surgical technician. He received both a Bronze Star and Silver Star.

Donavan is survived by 1 brother and 1 sister, William Bailey and Rose Nell Lemley both of Stockport and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial at 1:30 pm at Minnora Cemetery at Prudence Chapel, WV. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning on Friday at 4:00 pm.
