Doris L. Ewing

Doris L. Ewing of Marietta passed away at 6:48 pm, Thursday, October 18, 2018, at her home. She was born March 12, 1935 in Williamstown, WV to Thomas A. and Daisy Iowa (Mills) Russell.

She was employed at Heartland of Marietta as a nurses aide and was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son Daniel Ewing (Angelina) of Charleroi, PA and a daughter Debra Owens (Cam) of Reno. Also surviving are grandchildren Michael Ewing (Kyna), Amanda Ewing, Thomas Ewing (Whitney), Bobby Ritchie, Sarah Owens, Robert V. Sumpman (Brittany), Christopher Sumpman (Dana), Jennifer Verlich (Dan) and Joshua Sumpman, a sister Rosalie Lewis, great grandchildren Weston Hennes, Seirra Ewing, Nicolas Sumpman, Gianna Verlich, Trista Sumpman and Kolby Sumpman, and her former husband Norman Ewing. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a daughter Melanie G. Ewing, brothers Lloyd, Henry and Jim, sisters Leone, Elsie, Anna Pearl, Leah, and Virginia, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, October 24th at Williamstown First Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Mugrage officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call beginning 2pm on Tuesday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
