Dorothy “Dotty” Clare Duff Compton
Dorothy Clare “Dotty” Duff Compton, 78, of Marietta, passed away at 9:50am on Tuesday, May 07, 2013, at The Arbors of Marietta. She was born on May 15, 1934, in Washington County, OH, a daughter of Otmer and Margaret Kitts Duff.
Dorothy was retired from Washington County Court House where she was in Housekeeping. She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed making and selling crafts at the Farmer’s Market. She was married to Clifford Compton who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Patty Compton Zychowski of Lowell; 2 grandsons, Jason and Derek Hill of Lowell; sisters, Betty and Helen Robinson of Marietta; brothers Floyd Duff of Marietta and Gene Duff of Whipple, sisters-in-law, Betty Lou Duff of Marietta and Marilyn (Pat) Wagner of Marietta, 10 nephews, 7 nieces and several great and great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John Duff, nephew Randall Duff, 2 brothers-in-law Ronald and Raymond Robinson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 11) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Dalzell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday after 2:00 with family present 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
