Dorothy Jean Jurden Gray
Dorothy Jean Jurden Gray of Marietta, Ohio passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center at 4:10 p.m.She was born on April 1, 1925 in Churchtown, Ohio, to Wilfrid P. Jurden and Agnes Meiser Jurden.
She graduated from Marietta High School in 1943. She was a housewife most of her life. She also worked at the Ohio Nursery and at Devol's Greenhouse. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and friends. She also loved quilting, crocheting and gardening.
She married Harry A. Gray on Oct. 1, 1943, who preceded her in death in 2010. They resided in Fleming, Ohio most of their lives.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ball (Kenneth) of Waterford; Donna Kern (Don) of Marietta; and Janet Greathouse (Steve) of Barlow; and a son Darrin Gray (Kelly Legleitner) of Veto; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sue Gray Martin; one son, Kenneth Gray; one infant grandson, Kenneth Gray Jr.; three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday Dec. 21, 2012, at McClure Schafer Lankford Funeral Home in Marietta, Ohio. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, Dec. 22nd at 10:00 a.m. with Father Mike Campbell officiant. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
