Dorothy M. Henthorn
Dorothy Marie Berg Henthorn, 85, of Sixth Street, Marietta, died at her home on September 2, 2009, at 9:50 pm.
She was born on September 16, 1923, at her family’s home in Fearing Township, Whipple, to Reinhold and Laura Zimmer Berg. She attended Oak Shade and Stanleyville Elementary Schools and Marietta High School. She worked for American Bisco Pottery. Dorothy was a member of Norwood United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women.
On November 26, 1946, she married John B. Henthorn who preceded her in death on February 11, 1999 after 52 years of marriage. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters: Linda Henthorn and Judy (Lynn) Wagner, and one son, Leroy Henthorn all of Marietta, 7 grandchildren: Lance (Katherine) Wagner, Kim (Scott) Wolfert, Rob (Jamiann) Henthorn, Tori (Al) Miner all of Marietta, Johnny and Jimmy Warren and Jill Barnhill of Myrtle Beach, SC and 12 great grandchildren, brother Carl (Delores) Berg of Whipple, several nieces and nephews and very special friend and loving care giver Lois Hasley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Almeda (Guy) Oliver, 2 half-sisters, Helen Stark and Katherine Gerken.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Sunday (September 6th) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Don Archer officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 pm on Saturday with family present from 5 until 8. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy asked that memorial contributions be made to: The Michael J.
