Dorothy Marie Hesson

Dorothy Marie Hesson, 89, of St. Marys, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 6:15 pm at Pleasants Care Nursing Home in St. Marys.

She was born on May 10, 1920, in Newport, a daughter to George and Hollie Burton Thomas.  Dorothy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Marys.  She was employed by Colin Anderson until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, walking and gardening and bearing witness for the Lord.

She was married to Glen Hesson who preceded her in death on July3, 1968.  She is survived by 2 daughters and one son:  Kathryn McCullough, James R. Hesson and Martha Hesson all of  St. Marys, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are 4 brothers and 1 sister:  Calvin, Bob, Delmer, and Wayne Thomas, and Mabel Hanes.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Glenda Hearn and 2 sisters and 2 brothers:  Betty Rawson, Esther Farnsworth, Earl Thomas and Harold Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 1st) at 3:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 4:00 pm with family present from 4-9.  On line condolences may be sent to the family at:   www.mslfuneralhome.com.
