Edward M. Thompson
Edward Marion “Big Ed” Thompson, 77, of Williamstown passed away at 6:00 am, Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born August 21, 1938, in Greenwood, WV, a son of William Rawson and Rachel Isabell Richards Thompson.
Big Ed had been employed by the Williamstown Pottery, City of Williamstown and delivered papers for Parkersburg News for 19 years. He was an electrician by trade and a member of the Williamstown Church of God.
He is survived by one son and 2 daughters: Mary (fiancé Skip Spicer) Thompson, Edward (Sandy Fornaish) Thompson, Rachel (Cruz Horner) Thompson all of Williamstown; 5 stepsons and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, grandson, stepson, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Oct. 7) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
