Edward “Pete” McCauley
Edward “Pete” McCauley, 84, of Marietta, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008.
He was born on August 19, 1924, in Marietta, the son of Marshall and Nancy Scott McCauley. He was a graduate of Marietta High School and a member of Lynch United Methodist Church. He had retired from Storck Bakery Company in Parkersburg, WV. He was a decorated veteran of WWII in the U. S. Army, 48th Armored Division. He was in the European Theater and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
On July 6, 1944, he married Marcella Kilmer who preceded him in death on May 28, 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Nancy (David) Spindler of Marietta and a granddaughter Regan Spindler of Steamboat Springs, CO.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Harvey McCauley, Frank McCauley and sister Eulalia Jane McCauley all of Marietta.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Fearing Township Fire Department, 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple, OH 45788.
