Eleanor Ann Warren Coombs

Eleanor Ann Warren Coombs, 78, of Reno, Marietta, passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 9, 2011) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1933, in Marietta, a daughter of Fred G. and Dorothy Irene Thomas Warren. She graduated from Marietta High School with the Class of 1951. Eleanor was a homemaker and loved bingo, quilting, and with her husband Bob enjoyed bowling and golfing. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

On Aug. 24, 1952, she married Robert F. Coombs who preceded her in death on May 5, 1998.

Eleanor is survived by two sons and two daughters: Robert A. (Terrie) Coombs of Bartlett, Gregory L. Coombs of Marietta, Kristen Sue (Alan) Thomas of Baltic, Ohio, and Meredith A. (Mark) Ervin of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and eigtht great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Jacobs of Woodsfield; and several nieces and nephews who knew her as "Aunt E."

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard T. and Fred G. Warren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Nov. 12.) at 2 p.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
