Ella “Jean” Erb

Ella “Jean” Erb, 96, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2019. She was born September 21, 1922 in Marietta, Ohio to Okey Glenner and Myrtle Farmer Oliver.

She is survived by 5 children; David (Wendy) Erb, Rebecca Dobbins, Nancy Binegar, Kathleen Erb and Lela Erb, 13 grandchildren; Robin Vellequette, Jeff Erb, Toni Teters, Lori Pittman, Mark Dobbins, Tony Dobbins, Tisha Binegar, Shana Hayes, Kevin, Steven and David Erb, Jennifer Williams and Chrissa Campbell-Downer. She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Otto Erb, whom she married on November 22, 1941, a son, Christian Otto Erb, a brother, Wayne and sisters; Irene, Mae, and Ruth.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and served faithfully on various committees and ministry programs and served as director of Vacation Bible School for many years. Jean was well known in the community for her compassion and generosity, always ready to lend a hand to those in need and give a word of encouragement whenever it was needed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 26) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Sitka Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com
