Elmer J. and Mary C. Kemp

Elmer J. Kemp, 83 of Marietta passed away at 7:00am on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and his wife Mary C. Kemp, 83, passed away at 4:52 am on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
 
Elmer was born on August 11, 1930, in Burgettstown, PA a son of the late Elmer and Edna Farrell Kemp.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a Baptist minister.
 
Mary was born on February 19, 1931, in Augusta County, VA, a daughter of the late Eugene and Rena Anderson Bradley.
 
She was retired from J.C. Penney’s.
 
They are survived by their 4 daughters and 1 son:  Barbara (Dennis) Goff of Wingett Run, Patricia Kemp of Akron, Mary (Kenneth) Hicks of Davie, FL, Rena Nash of Marietta and John Kemp of Akron; 9 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
 
Elmer is survived by his sister Clarice McHargue of Dade City, FL.
 
Mary is survived by 3 sisters:  Hester Brooks, Betty Harris, Annie Johnson.  She was also preceded in death by her sister Frances Heizer and brother Louis Bradley.
 
A joint funeral service will be held for both Elmer and Mary on Friday (June 20) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend William Moore officiating.
