Elsie Smith

Elsie Smith, 95, of Marietta, passed away on October 25,2009, at Marietta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born December 24,1913, at Big Springs, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Emma Morehead Shuck. Elsie worked at the Betsy Mills Club, Wakefield and Lafayette Hotels, then in private homes, retiring in 1978.

Elsie is survived by one son, Ronny (Sandra) Smith of Marietta; grandson Mark (Tracey) Smith of Marietta; granddaughter Peggy (Brian) Bailey of Lowell; three great grandchildren, Brittni Cline, Derek and Brandyn Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; three brothers, Earl, Alfred and Joseph; three sisters, Estelle, Elodene and Inez.

Elsie spent her final days under the loving care of Hospice and the caring employees of Marietta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Private graveside services will be held according to Elsie's wishes, with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
