Erma E. Carpenter
Erma E. Carpenter, 96, of Marietta passed away at 7:10pm, Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born December 3, 1919, in Washington County, to I. O. “Bob” Carpenter and Virginia Grogan Carpenter. Erma had worked in Canton for many years and returned home to take care of her parents.
She is survived by two nieces: Shirley Hockenberry of Whipple and Janet (Martin) Crumbaker of Gambier, OH; great nieces and nephews: Robert (Anna) Hockenberry, Brenda (Dan) Waterman, Rick (Christy) Hockenberry, Jamie (Chad) Fox, Heather (Scott Corso) Metz, Patty (Michael) Klepatcki, Pam (Scott) Mickley and many great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Goldie Mantel, Lynda Carpenter, Edna Schenkel and 2 infant sisters, brothers-in-law, Paul Mantel and Cecil Schenkel and great nephew Daniel Crumbaker.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Heartland for their care of Erma and a special thank you to Charlotte and Megan.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday (Apr. 24) at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with John Wells officiating. Burial will be in Salem Township.
