Ethel S. Dearth

Ethel Stanley Dearth, 88, of Parkersburg, WV, formerly of Williamstown, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Sunbridge Health Care facility in Parkersburg.

She was born on January 22, 1921, in Ravenswood, WV, a daughter of the late Everett S. and Virginia Shokey Finch.  Ethel was a member of the North End Church of Christ in Parkersburg.  She formerly worked at Fenton Art Glass Company of Williamstown.

She is survived by nephews, Lawrence R. (Sharon) Nowery of Powhatan, VA, and Donald R. (Darlene) Nowery of Springport, MI; nieces, Sue Hutzler of Martinsburg, WV, Rita (Denny) Snelbaker of Manchester, PA, Gloria J. Hall of Williamstown; step children:  Dr. John E. (Pat) Dearth of Wheeling, WV, Ronald E. Dearth of Parkersburg, Barbara Elliott of Vienna, Carol Carpenter of Parkersburg, Letha Mae Cline of Belpre, and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Harry Stanley and daughter Wilma Dean Stanley both of Williamstown; 2 sisters, Beulah Nowery of Vienna, Bonnie Laughlin of Martinsburg, brother Edwin Finch of Martinsburg, second husband Berlin Dearth of Parkersburg, stepson Francis Dearth of Parkersburg, step sons-in-law Archie Carpenter of Parkersburg, Bernie Cline of Belpre and Robert Elliott of Vienna.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (December 2) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Steve Haguewood officiating.   Burial in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Tuesday at 2:00.
