Eva Pauline “Polly” Browning

Eva Pauline “Polly” Browning, 79, of Reno, died Monday (March 12, 2012) at The Willows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Parkersburg, WV.

She was born May 14, 1932, at home on Sand Hill in Reno, to the late James Walter & Mable Estella (Wellspring) McKnight.

She married Lee Roy Browning of Fouke, AR on June 28, 1953, in Reno. She was a graduate of Sand Hill School and Marietta High School (Class of 1950) and was a lifelong member of Sand Hill United Methodist Church. She worked for Ohio Bell, Marietta Memorial Hospital, Dr. Robert L. Rudolph, Ohio Highway Patrol and retired from Kardex.

She was an avid genealogist and quilter. She was a member of numerous quilting, genealogy and historical societies as well as the Buell Tent #19 DUV, RSVP and was past Secretary of the Sand Hill School Alumni.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Virginia Mae McKnight, and brothers Gale Edward McKnight, Dale Walter McKnight and Richard Ellwood McKnight.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, Rick (Kathy) of Reno and Michael (LuAnn) of Eighty Four, PA; one granddaughter Tiffany and Four step-grandchildren: Kim, John, Jodi and Sara; two great grandsons, Matthew and Joshua; one sister, Sherry (Donald) Britton of Marietta and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 14th with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sand Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Wendy Erb officiating. Burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Park in Reno.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
