Fay Elsie Heter Angel

Fay Elsie Heter Angel, 93, of Washington Street, Marietta, passed away Thursday morning (Nov. 10, 2011) at Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born to Frederich W. Heter and Elsie Wilson Heter Feb. 19, 1918, in Old Town Valley, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Raised on a farm where she was born, she attended "Fribley's School" a one-room school house in the valley and later New Philadelphia High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Theodore E. Angel; her brother, Elmer Heter; and grandson, Dr. David Angel Jr. M.D. She is survived by two children : David L. Angel of North Lake Tahoe, Calif. and Rebeca Davis of Fishers, Ind.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She moved to Marietta in 1939 with her husband and was later employed by Marietta College serving as the Book Store Manager for 19 Years followed by 12 years operating Angel's Mat and Frame Shop with her husband at the home address. A devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 20 years, she was active in numerous organizations and community activities. Among these are the Marietta Woman's Home, the Girls Council of the Betsey Mills Club, The Beta Chapter of the Child Conservation League and Franciscan Meals. Occasionally she would give tours at the Campus Martius Museum. Her greatest joy was to be with and help in any way all of her friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Monday (Nov. 14) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Burial following in Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m.
