Frederick M. Cline
Frederick M. Cline, 84, of Newport, passed away at his home at 2:00 am on Monday, October 26, 2009.
He was born in Lower Salem, Ohio, on August 29, 1925, to Jewitt and Lula Mount Cline. Fred had been employed at Ormet. He was a member of Parr Hill Community Church, a veteran of US Army World War II, and had been a member of Nuts and Bolts Bowling League for 30 years.
On October 28, 1950, he married Lois Harris who survives with 2 sons and 1 daughter: Fred E. Cline, Jr. of Newport, Steven W. (Melissa) Cline of Whipple, and Cathy Smith of Marietta, 2 grandchildren: Whitney Kelsey and Kyle Cline, 2 great grandchildren: Cameron and Caydon and 1 brother Murlyn Cline of Vincent.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Hazel Machem.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (October 30th) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with David Beaver officiating. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call after 2:00 on Wednesday until the hour of the service with family present on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8.
