G. Beman Miller, 95, of Marietta past away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Elmcroft Assisted Living.

He was born on February 3, 1925, in Marietta to the late George and Wava Miller. Following graduation from Marietta High School in 1942, he attended The Ohio State University for one year. From November 1945 to June 1954 he was employed by Washington County Farm Bureau Co-Op, leaving to take the post of Organization Director of the Ohio Farm Bureau in Northeast Ohio.

In November 1975, he was employed by Washington Landmark, Inc. – formerly Washington County Farm Bureau Co-Op – as it’s General Manager. He retired from this post in December 1988 with 43 years of service.

On September 1, 1945, he married Merna June Best, who preceded him in death after 67 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by a son Ronald Miller, his parents and 4 siblings.

He is survived by his brother Paul Miller of Little Hocking, 2 sons Mike Miller (Kim) of Marietta and Brian Miller (Mary) of Bedford, WY and daughter-in-law Janet Miller of Amherst. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Tim Miller (Yao) of Atlanta, GA, Scott Miller of Amherst, Jill Randall (Mark) of Daniel, WY, Matthew Miller (Diana) of Jackson, WY, Jamie Caparulo (John) of Las Vegas, NV, Katie Miller of Las Angeles, CA and 5 great grandchildren.

Beman was a very humble family man who derived great pleasure spending time with his family. He provided a powerful role model. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church.

A graveside service for immediate family members will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Monday (April 27) at 10:00 am with service led by Pastor Joe Vasarhelyi.
