Gale E. Lauderman, Sr.
Gale E. Lauderman, Sr., 91, of Marietta went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2012. He was born on October 1, 1920, in Waverly, WV, the son of the late Arnold and Ella Beckett Lauderman and was the last surviving member of his family. He was employed by R. O. Wetz Transportation for 38 years and was a member of Marietta Baptist Temple. He enjoyed his family and loved music.
On October 30, 1939, he married Erlene Jones who preceded him in death on May 9, 2005, having celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Gale is survived by 3 daughters; Arlene Taylor, Patty Steele Schumacher and Diana Shuck (Jeff), all of Marietta; 3 sons; Henry Lauderman (Nancy), Dale Lauderman (Marlene) and Pastor Gale Lauderman (Carolyn), all of Marietta; 13 grandchildren: Steve Taylor (Marcia), Carla Miller, Tammy Taylor, Freddy Taylor (Rhonda), Beth Weber (Brian), Emily Cramer (Danny), Adam Lauderman, Noah Lauderman (Brianna), Marcia McCullough (Rick), Michelle Bookman (Darian), Brian Steele (Rhonda), Jason and Joshua Shuck, several great, step-great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Maxine who died in infancy, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson, 1great granddaughter, 2 sons-in-law, and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday (Jan. 19) at The Marietta Baptist Temple at the corner of Caywood and Lynch Church Roads with his son, Pastor Gale Lauderman and Pastor Don Teubert officiating. Burial will be in the Barker Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Tuesday evening after 6 pm, all day on Wednesday and for one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
