Gary Frederick Bishman
Gary Frederick Bishman, 73, of Columbus formerly of Marietta, went home to Heaven on April 14, 2012.
Gary was born on April 20th 1938. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1956. Gary is a U.S. Air Force veteran, and was a member of the 81st Field Maintenance Squadron from 1956 to 1960. Upon his return from the U.S. Air Force, Gary attended classes at Marietta College. He worked for North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio in 1961. He was a longtime faithful employee of Kardex Systems Inc., formerly known as Remington-Rand, in Marietta. He retired as Controller of Kardex Systems Inc.
Surviving is his loving daughter Kim Fields, son-in-law John, and two adoring granddaughters, Kate and Elizabeth, all of Columbus, a sister, Jeannine (Lloyd) Cheeseman, a brother Michael (Chris) Bishman both of Marietta, Sandra Bishman, loving mother of Kim, of Athens, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. We want to especially recognize dear friends of the family, Lou and Janet Whitney of Marietta.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm, Friday (April 20) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Whitney officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites.
