Gene B. Barth

Gene B. Barth 71, of Lowell, went home to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 31, 2010, at his home.

He was born on February 4, 1939, at Unionville (Washington County) a son of Barnum S. and Hilda E. Seyler Barth.  Gene was a mechanic all his life and could fix anything.  He also enjoyed camping, tractor pulling, farming and most of all spending time with his family.

On December 29, 1962, he married Sandra L. Dearth who survives with children:  Colleen D. Barth (Jeffrey) Tennant of Thornville, OH, Christy D. Barth (Ricky) Hockenberry of Lowell, Chad D. (Mendy) Barth of Marietta, Craig D. (Melissa) Barth of Lowell, Curt D. (Janet) Barth of Lowell; grandchildren:  Joshua M. (Stacey Sims) Mugrage, Jarrod M. Mugrage, Samuel L. Tennant, Nicholas H. Tennant, Trey F. Brown, Anna M.(Wayne Guckert) Hockenberry, Aaron M. Hockenberry, Douglas E. Barth, Janelle E. Barth, Kaci A. Barth, Kelsie D. Barth, Kassidie B. Barth, C. Darien Barth II, Kylie S. Barth, Dylan J. Barth, Kaylie S. Barth, Mitchel D. Barth, Jacey E. Barth.  Also surviving are his special aunt Sophia Winters, brothers; Paul (Margaret) Barth, Robert Barth and Leroy Barth, sister Joan Barth, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Gene A. Barth, and infant granddaughter Karissa J. Barth.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3rd, at 2:00 pm at Souls Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford beginning at 2:00 pm on Wednesday with family present from 2–4 and 6-8 and at the church on Thursday beginning at 12:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice, O’Neill Center Adult Day Care, or Washington County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver.
