George C. Mather

George C. Mather, 77, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Williamstown, WV, received his wings on Monday, June 9, 2025, just a short 5 months after the passing of his wife, Mun Cha Kim Mather. He was born November 24, 1947, a son of Floyd Mather and Marion Hill.

George was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a Sgt. 1st Class, serving in Vietnam and 2 tours in Korea and Germany. He was a cook by trade. He retired after serving 21 years.

George is survived by his 2 sisters, Linda Smearman and Kathy Mather; 2 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Mather and Opal Mather; niece, Kerri Semarman (Mike Stevens), Heather and Tammy; nephew Steve Mather, great nephew, Maverick Stevens, whom he adored.

George is preceded in death by: Floyd Mathew (father), Marion Hill (Mother), Kim Mather, (wife) and his brothers, Bob, Ronnie, Steve and Kenny.

George will be deeply missed by all in the community, for whom he would do odds and ends jobs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday (June 13), at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by interment in East Lawn Memorial Park with a Military Honors service. Family before the service from 9:00 until 11:00 am. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
