Glee M. Emerick
Her time was up so she was called home. Glee Maxine Bowser Emerick, 76, went with the Lord September 11, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital recovering from open heart surgery.
Born June 8, 1935, in Worthington, PA, to the late Charles R. Bowser and Alice Mable Gaiser Bowser, a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Class of 1954, also a Valedictorian of her class. Glee was a member of Muskingum Valley Baptist Church, loved singing in the choir, church secretary, Ladies’ Missionary member and secretary. She worked as a secretary clerk for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington, D.C. She devoted her life to her friends and family and church. A happy homemaker and loving wife to Robert E. Emerick whom she married August 23, 1954. Glee loved Jesus, sharing her faith with friends and family, gave unconditional love to all with her beautiful smile.
Glee was a loving mother, raised 2 daughters, Debra Lynn (Charles) Streight of Marietta and Kathy Elaine (the late Steve) Yencer of Grove City, OH. Glee was a grandmother to Johnny Lee Parsons of Belpre, Kimberly Ruth Streight (Charlie) McPherson of Belpre, Stephanie Lynn Yencer of New Orleans, LA, Sarah Kathryn Yencer of Grove City, great grandson Collin Charles McPherson of Belpre.
Surviving are 5 sisters: Bernice (the late Myrle) Beckley of Carrolton, OH, Jean (Bradley) Alloway of Newport, Elma (the late James) Howiler of Caldwell, Joan (Walter) Rinard of Rinard Mills, Pauline (Joe) Romack of Tampa, FL and sister-in-law Carol Bowser of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers: Charles Bowser of Kane, PA, John D. Bowser of Canton, James Bowser of St Marys, WV; 2 sisters: Gladys Grim of Bergholtz, OH and Margaret Strickler of Marietta, sister Evelyn Bowser of Rinard Mills, 2 infant children, William Bowser and Cynthia Bowser.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (September 15) at 11:00 am at Muskingum Valley Baptist Church with Scott Shawver officiating. Burial will follow at Muskingum Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon after 2:00pm with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.
