Harold “Bud” Jarvis

Harold “Bud” Lewis Jarvis, age 78, died peacefully at home and entered the presence of his loving Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2009.  Born on August 3, 1930 in Waterloo , NY , to Lewis and Jennie Hannah Jarvis, he leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Janet Robb Jarvis.  Also left to cherish his memory are four children and their families:  Dan & Lois (Jarvis) Gillette of Covington, VA., David & Elena Jarvis of Sterling , VA , Joe & Ruth (Jarvis) Jenkins of Spotsylvania, VA, and Guthrie & Paula (Jarvis) Chamberlain of Marietta, OH.  He also claimed an “adopted” daughter Sun (Oh) Chung of Seattle, WA.

Seventeen grandchildren include Joshua Jenkins and Janelle Voisin of Wisconsin, Jared Jenkins, Josiah Jenkins, Emily Jarvis, Sarah Jarvis, Jonathan Jarvis, Matthew Jarvis, Jacinda Gillette and Jordan Gillette of Virginia, Jessica Robertson of Indiana, Joanna Zuck, Elizabeth Miller, and Frederick Chamberlain of Ohio, Harold Chamberlain of Georgia, Barnabas Chamberlain of Pennsylvania, and Janet Chamberlain of Florida.

Great grandchildren are Elijah and Ezra Jenkins, Avery and Adelia Jenkins, and N. Paul Miller.

Mr. Jarvis was preceded in death by his brother Donald Jarvis of Waterloo , NY , and his sister Myrtle Jarvis of Fairview Park, OH.  His sister Pauline Jarvis in New Port Richey, FL, survives him.

Bud Jarvis pastored churches in New York , Indiana , and California .  He also worked as a loan officer for Bank of America.  Mr. Jarvis was noted for his dedication to God, his humor, his friendliness and his many hobbies.  He was recognized for 44 years of service to Civil Air Patrol as a Chaplain.

A memorial service is planned for 7pm at Bible Baptist Church in Parkersburg , WV on Monday, June 22nd.  Interment will follow in Waterloo , NY on Wednesday, June 24th.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a Camp Fund at Bible Baptist Church , 400 Cypress St , Parkersburg , WV  26104 .
