Hattie Cook Bailey

Hattie Cook Bailey, 90, of Marietta was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was born on November 20, 1932, in Buchanon County, Virginia, to the late Alden and Bessie (Boyd) Cook. She married the late Seldon Bailey on November 11, 1954 in New Mexico.
Hattie loved starting her day reading the Bible and attending church on Sundays where she loved teaching Sunday school. She was a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church. She had been a Christian for over 70 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her hobbies were quilting and making pillows for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Lois (Howard) Offenberger, Stanley (Kathy) Bailey and Donnita (Bud) Maley; her grandchildren: Lori (Nolan) Porter, Howard Jr. (Jeralynne) Offenberger, Tonya (Bryan) Moffatt, Stanley (Denise) Bailey, Sinda (Kirk) Isner, Seleen (Faxson) Cockrell, Melissa (Todd) Cherry, Grace (Spencer) Bailey, Amanda (Evan) Lightner, Andrea Maley (Anthony), Kelsi (Dustin) Timberman; Great grandchildren: Darin (Katie) Porter, Allison (Andrew) Overton, Brandyn (Anna) Offenberger, Ashley (Chase) Offenberger, Kristen (Caleb) Fish, Dalton Moffatt, Garrett Moffatt, Wyatt Moffatt, Nathaniel Bailey, Mikalah (Travis) Bailey, Kaitlyn (Zane) Bailey, Jared Isner, Chloe Lightner, Megan Lightner, Dewet Cockrell, Tyson Cherry, Tanner Cherry, Seldon Goodwin, Lennox Goodwin, Dayson Timberman, Oliver Timberman, Seraphina Timberman; Great-great grandchildren: RaeLynn Offenberger, Braxtyn Offenberger, Maddliyyn Fish, Hazel Grace Fish, Oaklei Fish, Eleanor Fish, Everett Adams, Maisy Adams, Ezrah McGowan, Delilah McGowan and her sister Lottie Bailey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Seldon Bailey, son DeGerald Bailey, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (Feb. 10) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Warren Chapel Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
