Hebert Nolan
Herbert Ray Nolan, 88, of Williamstown, WV, died Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was born May 21, 1927, in Marion County, WV, a son of the late Nelson G. and Bertha J. Rose Nolan.
He attended Wetzel County Schools and moved to Williamstown in 1945. A Korean War Veteran, he was employed at Elkem Metals for 30 years until retiring in 1985. He also worked construction. He was a member of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Elizabeth Ahart Nolan, formerly of Parkersburg, two daughters, Juanita (Jerry) Tanner of Boaz and Brenda (Kevin) Lell of Marietta, grandson Joshua Ray Lell of Williamstown and step-grandson Wyatt L. Tanner of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Junior Nolan, Kenneth Nolan, Sr., Roger Nolan, Betty Wright and Shirley Roton.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Iona Hall, Virgil Nolan, Margaret Martin, Ronald Nolan, Robert Nolan, Denzil Nolan.
Services will be held on Thursday (July 23) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Roger Rush officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday before the service from 9:00 until 11:00. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
